Just beyond the Bainbridge High school in Climax, Georgia is a church that is certainly “Alive and worth the Drive”! Located on 204 W. Lee Street in Climax, Georgia, Climax Baptist Church has a large congregation and a welcome attitude to all visitors, young and old. Led by Pastor Steve Poppell, Climax Baptist Church holds Sunday School services at 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings, followed promptly by the morning’s worship service at 10:45 a.m., along with several other worship services held during Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
Worship services reach out to every age in the congregation, even including a small time for younger children to be included in the morning’s message.
Founded in November of 1895, Climax Baptist Church has been an important part of the Climax community since its founding.
As a swiftly growing church, Climax Baptist Church’s older sanctuary was pulled down and reconstructed as a larger building to make room for the growing congregation. A larger building was added along with classrooms. the church continues to grow as the Holy Spirit moves through the building and works through the church staff and congregation members.
Climax Baptist Church includes many different opportunities in which to worship, learn and witness to the lost included in the church.
With a fantastic youth program, children from sixth grade to high school seniors may learn about the Bible and God’s will, while having fun with fellowship. For younger children, the church’s Awana program is ready to help the church’s youngest members learn and understand the Bible.
For older church members, the church offers Discipleship training on Sunday evenings, as well as offering a ministry for Women, WOM, ‘Women on Mission’, which raises money and supplies to send to missionaries fighting to spread the word of the Lord around the world.
